Academic Excellence
Hosanna Christian School stresses high academic standards in all of the educational disciplines while maintaining a strong Christian perspective. We utilize Abeka Curriculum, supplemented with other resources.
Our students consistently test well ahead of the state and national norms in scholastic testing. Citizenship and overall Christian character development are primary objectives along with academic excellence.
Classes are taught in a traditional classroom setting with 12 – 18 students per room, allowing the teacher to give personal attention to each student. In addition to class time, physical education and field trips enhance the educational experience.
Our Academic Goals
To help the student develop a Christian world view by integrating life, and all studies, with the Bible. (2 Pet. 1:3)
To teach the student to hide God's Word in his heart through memorization and meditation. (Ps. 119:11, Ps. 1:1-3)
To teach the student how to study God's Word. (2 Tim. 2:15)
To teach the student physical fitness, good health habits, and wise use of the body as the Temple of God. (1 Cor. 6:19, 20)
To teach the student Biblical attitudes toward material things and his responsibility for using them to God's glory. (1 Tim. 6:17-19, Matt. 6:19,20, 1 Cor. 10:31)
To teach the student an appreciation of the Fine Arts (art, music, and drama).
To teach the student to understand and use the fundamental processes in communicating and dealing with others (such as reading, writing, speaking, listening, and mathematics). (2 Cor. 5:20)
To teach and encourage the student to use good study skills and habits. (2 Tim. 2:3-7)
To teach the student how to research and to reason logically from a Biblical perspective. (Heb. 5:14, Rom. 12:2)
To teach the student creative and critical thinking based upon the proper use of Biblical criteria for evaluation. (2 Tim. 3:14-17)
To teach the student good citizenship through an understanding and appreciation of our Christian and American heritage (home, church, nation). (1 Cor. 10:11, Rom. 13:1-7)
To use current affairs in all areas, teaching the student how they relate to God's plan for man.
To teach the student an understanding of and an appreciation for God's world, developing an awareness of man's role in his environment and his God-given responsibility to subdue, use and preserve it properly. (Ps. 8:6, Heb. 2:6-8)
